As It Turns Out...

I survived the week and better than expected too. My frineds finally came home late last night and I am really happy to have them back!! (:
I got a text from Luke last night when he got home and he got accepted to Moody Bible Institute in Spokane, Washington! He is pretty pumped and I am really happy for him but I don't want him to move that far away ): That's gunna stink. Oh well, I'll be alright.
I've got other friends! Like the lovely Jessica Stanfill (: I was really happy to get to spend some time with her twice this weekend!! Yay! And we'll be spending some more time together getting ready for her wedding in the beginning of June (:
All theses things are so exciting!
Behold The Branch also recorded yesterday! I cannot wait to hear the stuff!
Anyways, I am not too excited to work today, hopefully this day will stay nice.

Later,
Nancy (:

ps. more to tell about later (:

Busy Doing Nothing

Lately I feel like Ihave been swamped with busy days and then I look back on them at the end and realize "wow, I literally sat on the couch all day and watched tv." This is sickening. I need something awesome to do. It'd probably be nice if my friends would come home and school was over.
On the note of school, I got a piece of mail yesterday from Olivet Nazarene University yesterday. Generally when I get college mail I tear it up before even opening it or by now most of it my mom doesn't even give to me because she knows it's going to end up in the trash anyway. This piece, however, stood out. I opened up the flyer and it seemed pretty nice. I read a few of the articles and it seems as if a lot of the students there go on to achieve the goals they have had since childhood. And then came the big part for me. I flipped to the Areas Of Study page and was just reading through all of the degrees, "blah, blah, blah, family and consumer science, fashion merchandising, film studies, finance, blah, blah, blah....wait, FASHION MERCHANDISING?! Be still my beating heart." Fashion Merchandising is my absolute passion and I have been researching schools with this degree for over a year now. I found the obvious schools, The Art Institutes, FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising), even Ball State has a degree in it, but I don't have 35 million dollars and I don't want to move away from my family, friends, and church. Those things are really important to me. I'd be able to live either on campus or even at home if depending on my classes, but I'd be able to come home any time I'd like if I lived there. I'd be able to be home every weekend for church and whatever else I'd like to do (: I am pretty excited. The school is still expensive, but it is a private school and still not raking you like The Art Institute would. I am prety excited to do a little more research on the school. Who knows, I may end up there! Prayers for me and my choices made for after high school would be very appreciated (:

Later,
Nancy (:

ps. coffee shop with my mom today!

Forever Young

Being young has it's charms but sometimes it just sucks. I always feel like I am missing out on awesome oppertunities and fun times because I am too young. My brother is older than me and alomst all of my friends are older than me too. You have to be 18 be able to legally do certain things. Because of my birthday my parents started me later in school. I could be graduating this year but no, I get another whole year of school without some of my very best friends around. This week is practice I suppose.
Two of my favorite people in the whole world, Luke Johnson and Bethany VanderMolen, are going to be in Guatemala all week with school on a service trip. No phones, no internet, no communication with Nancy /: Blah. I am really going to miss talking to them this week. They will be planting gardens and helping out at the orphanages and other missions type projects during the week. Every year the school that I used to go to has a "service week" in April and all of the different classes go to different places to do service projects. The senior class goes to Guat and my old class, the juniors, will be in Inez, Kentucky helping out in the hollows and such there. The people in that part of Kentucky are really in need of help, both spiritually and physically and there is not much better than a bunch of able bodied Christian school kids. So, I get to be stuck at home all week with my best friends gone. I guess I'll have quite a bit of time to pray for them and their saftey.
Well, I hope I get to start my previously mentioned curtain project this week with all my free time. I need something to do or I might go insane. I guess I could always use this time to get caught up with my school work so I can maybe graduate early!? (:
I am kinda sick of this grey sky, I want it to be blue and sunshine. Summer time!!! Hooooray!
Awwww yeah!
In music news, Sleeping At Last has their lastest cd Storyboards up for a free download. They are pretty amazing if you ask me.
I've been having some pretty weird dreams lately too...but those aren't really anyhting news worthy.
Also on Friday nights a bunch of my friends are in a band that plays an awesome worship service. It is at a place called The Branch n downtown Valpo and it starts at 7:30 every Friday. The band that plays will be recording their music at the end of this month and I am super excited for their stuff to get heard. They are incredible. You can check out the band at their facebook (though they don't have any music yet) here. And you can also check out the venue at their website here or also on their facebook here. Along with the worship on Friday's they have some really awesome bible studies going on during the week that you should check out for reals.
Lastly, have I mentioned I hate chemistry?

Later,
Nancy (:

ps. egg rolls = yummy!

Abs=Steel

My mom and I recently got a membership to the local fitness club and we've been going to work out everyday. I've been doing a lot of cardio work on the StairMaster and some on the tredmill, too. So far, my butt and legs are looking pretty good and it's only been 3 weeks! Awww yeeeah. After I do my cardio I'll usually do some ab workouts and hip abductors. My abs are killing me today after working out this morning and yesterday. I think I've gotta settle down on the hips and running on the tredmill cause my right hip is starting to pop in and out of place when I walk and that's no fun. I'm really hoping to get that awesome beach body for the summer (:
Yesterday I got my new pair of Tom's in! (:

They are my third pair and I love them! I got the cream colored ones and I'm hoping they look really awesome if I can get a tan his summer. They look really cute with a lot of the skirts and summer dresses I've been wearing this spring.
I reorganized my schedule for math today and I should be done with math for the rest of my life on May 23. I never want to look at a math book again. And I get to be done with chemistry on May 9, yahoo. Yuck, I hate chemistry. It is the worst class I have ever taken. Maybe. I really hated geometry, too. Anyways, I just can't wait to be finally finished with school and have summer. Then on to my final year! Woot woot. I also got in my books for next year yesterday. I am excited to take my family and consumer science class next year so I can learn the ins and outs of cooking and cleaning. (:
In other news, I am supposed to be starting a project for a friend soon. I'm making a curtain out of burlap coffee bags for his new apartment. This should be super fun. Maybe it'll get me back into the groove of bag making, find some awesome new patterns and make my own too.
Well, back to school and then getting ready for my long day at work.

Later,
Nancy (:

ps. I miss my grandparents in AZ. They need to come home soon!

My Week Thus Far

Sunday I had the pleasure of spending my day with my mom. She is my very best friend and we had so much fun together (:
We started our fun filled day off at the movie theatre. We saw Limitless starring Bradley Cooper. It was a pretty good movie. I would, however, reccomend not spending the money at the theatre.
After the movie we headed over to the mall to pick up a few things and while heading out we walked past a photobooth and I suggested we take a few pictures.
On our way home we stopped at Subway and DQ to take home for dinner that night. Then we went over to the movie store by our house to see if anything new was out that we wanted to see and, well, we are one of the only 2 people who ever walk out of there without a movie.
Instead of watching another movie that night we colored my hair! YAY to be blonde again!! (: I had tried coloring my hair back to blonde a few weeks ago and the color did absolutely nothing. So I started using some old school Sun-In and it lightened my hair enough that it picked up the new color. I love being blonde. If I ever want to go dark again, please, everyone, tell me no!!
We eventually ate our Subway and DQ and then came on the epic stomach ache. Popcorn, candy, and large Icee's at the theatre plus blizzard and a 6inch sub equals not a fun time. The stomach ache lasted through the night, through my 3 hours of class on Monday, my drive home and the 2 hour nap I took. Thankfully when I woke up Monday evening I was feeling a little better.
My dad and brother were both gone again last night so my mom and I sat around watching some tv. We caught up on the last episode of The Biggest Loser (we LOVE that show!) and then we watched Dancing With The Stars, a new show I have been sort of watching. I love the way Chelsea and Mark have a way of keeping the dances young and fun to watch.
So far the week has been pretty great. Today has been boring, just doing my math and some other random stuff in my room. Can't wait to watch the new Biggest Loser tonight (:

Later,
Nancy (:

ps. shorter blog next time. I won't have all the catching up to do.
pss. 55 days til I turn 18!! (:
